Chris Howell has been announced as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oceânico Group.
At the request of shareholders Gerry Fagan and Simon Burgess, the board appointed Chris Howell to provide support to the shareholders, leadership to the board and assistance to the entire Oceânico team.
Gerry Fagan said: “We are pleased to welcome Chris Howell as a significant addition to our senior management team. As we move out of recession, it is essential that we continue to maintain stable business relationships with our principle banking partners and agree clear objectives for the future. We have no doubt that Chris’s skills will prove invaluable to us.”
Newly appointed Chris Howell said: “I am delighted to be joining the group and I believe that my expertise and experience will lend itself well in assisting Oceânico as it enters into its next decade of business.”
The Oceânico Group has an extensive property and golf portfolio on the Algarve including seven championship golf courses and properties in Silves, Lagos and Praia da Luz.
Gerry Fagan said: “Oceânico, like all property developers, has had a challenging two years but we now feel that with the market slowly but surely recovering, it is time to look positively to the future.”
He added: “Our golf courses are still thriving while Portugal has, and will, retain its quality and we will ensure this high standard throughout our resorts and golf courses is maintained.”
