New casino for Lisbon

news: New casino for Lisbon

Building work is finally going ahead on Lisbon’s future casino, nine months after the original plans were agreed. Estoril Sol Enterprise purchased the Pavilhão do Futuro, located at the old Expo site, Parque das Nações – the site for the new casino – for a total of 15 million euros.

President of Estoril Sol, Mário Assis Ferreira, confirmed that he recently signed the final contract and revealed that the casino will be inaugurated on September 25, 2005. “It is nine months since the plans were originally decided on and it will be another year before it is built – we have no time to waste,” Ferreira explained. He added that his company is investing 50 million euros in the project, but refused to give any more information about the casino’s plans, revealing only that the casino will have 600 parking spaces.

A source from Parque das Nações explained that the casino is expected to attract hundreds more visitors to the arena.
