Valverde Lawn Bowls Club, located behind Don Camillo’s restaurant near Almancil, is celebrating its official opening this Sunday (October 18) by holding an all day bowls competition with members from bowls clubs across the Algarve competing.
Construction of the green was funded entirely by the club’s 50 members and finished in March this year.
Everyone is welcome to watch the competition, which starts at 9.30am. A buffet lunch will be served. The event is sponsored by Lorna Marshall, owner of Celebrations in Albufeira, who will be providing the trophy and prizes.
