More than 500 people attended the opening of the new Galerio art gallery in the Centro de Congressos in Parchal (Lagoa) on Saturday, May 7.
Artwork by some of the best-known artists in the Algarve was on display.
German art specialist Rolf Osang, who is running the gallery, said of the venue: “This fantastic building is awakening like Sleeping Beauty.”
On the Sunday, a memorable concert by world famous violonist Pavel Milyukov took place at the centre’s auditorium just days after the musician took part in the opening of the re-built Palmyra in Syria.
Galerio is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10.30am to 6.30pm.
