New appeal for information on nurse missing in Lisbon

The daughter of missing nurse Célia Paulo has sent out yet another heartbreaking appeal for information on her mother’s whereabouts.

49-year-old Célia has not been answering her telephone since Monday (January 18). She failed to turn up for her shift at Lisbon’s Santa Maria Hospital at 3.30pm that afternoon, but appears to have been sighted a few kilometres away in Paço do Lumiar around 8.15 in the evening.

Célia Paulo is understood to be suffering from psychological issues and may, her family say, have simply reached such a state of physical exhaustion due to months of gruelling work schedules that she has become disorientated.

Daughter Matilde has sent out a new appeal over Instagram last night, giving the telephone numbers to call if anyone has any information on her mother (962 837 609 and 916 381 231).

Meantime, police, civil protection and even hospitals are all involved in the search for the missing woman.

Said a source for the PSP, the force is “continuing to effect diligencies in the sense of trying to find the citizens in the Lisbon area, bearing in mind that she was last seen there, and around her area of residence”. Other entities in the country are also “on the alert”.

The PSP remains in contact with the family, while PJ criminal police have also been called in to help with the investigation.

Célia Paulo is described as “medium height, with brown hair”. When she went missing on Monday she was wearing green trousers and a red jacket. She usually wears glasses, but these may be different to the one’s in the image above.
