Network, the women’s business organisation in the Algarve, held its Annual General Meeting on March 14, welcoming in Janice Russell as its new president as well as new Admin Council members, Kathleen Kuys (vice president central), Pia Cross (vice president central), Sam Felisberto (vice president west), Joanne Gardener-Sargent (vice president west), Lynda Morgan (treasurer), Truus Zandstra, Lis Jensen, Marilyn Homes (fiscal board), Sheena Rawcliffe and Lesley Miller (general assembly board president and vice president).
At the same time, it was farewell and a big thank you to the outgoing Admin Council members Linda Smith (president), Renette Joubert (vice president central), Karen Carfrae (vice president west), Silvia Smeman (chairman of the fiscal board) and Gudrun Robinson (fiscal board) for their contribution of a successful year.
The award of Woman of the Year went to loyal and supportive member Lis Jensen and members voted for Riding for the Disabled as their Charity of the Year.
New opportunities
Outgoing president, Linda Smith left the members with the parting thought that networking leads to new relationships, new opportunities and greater accomplishments. Thanks was also given to Paulette Fouché, Network co-ordinator, for her work behind the scenes.
