The government of Nepal has just opened two honorary consulate offices in Lisbon and Porto. The new posts, to be run by Makar Bahadur Hamal and Maria Tereja respectively, were announced at a meeting in Lisbon’s Tayara Hotel this week, before a number of high-ranking officials from the Portuguese foreign office. Nepal’s French Ambassador Mohn Krishna Shrestha said the offices would help Nepali citizens living in Portugal and strengthen diplomatic ties between the two countries.
