Negationist magistrate fracas: profession’s syndicate sends message of solidarity to PSP

The Syndical Association of (Portuguese) judges has sent a message of solidarity to the PSP over the fracas earlier this week with ‘pandemic negationist’ magistrate Rui Fonseca e Castro. In the letter sent to the national director of the force, the judges have said Mr Fonseca e Castro’s behaviour embarrassed the entire profession (click here). It is looking increasingly likely that the maverick will ‘have the book thrown at him’ when the Superior Council of Magistrates decides on the disciplinary process opened some months ago (click here).
