The annual Nauticampo Trade Fair, which showcases everything to do with water tourism and sports, has been extended and re-launched to incorporate the all-new Lisbon Boat Show.
The Lisbon Boat Show will take place at Lisbon’s FIL at Parque das Nações between February 3 and 7.
The innovative new format, which includes the Salão Internacional Náutico de Portugal (The International Nautical Fair of Portugal), will take its place among the most important and largest boat and nautical fairs in the world.
The organisation’s new strategy is to create the autonomous and independent Lisbon Boat Show as a brand in itself and run the two parallel events over five days.
There are also plans to use the FIL’s proximity to the River Tejo to put on promotional events by and on the river.
Fair organiser Fátima Vila-Maior said that the key aim for 2010 was to put Lisbon firmly on the international map for boating events and fairs, and promote both the event and Lisbon’s riverside and maritime position through a number of sporting and nautical activities.
