Around one million euros is to be invested in transforming the Quinta de Marim, in the Ria Formosa natural park in Olhão council, into a visitor centre by the spring of 2011.
The Quinta also has a rehabilitation centre for wild animals (RIAS), which is now under private management by Associação Aldeia in partnership with the institute of nature conservation and biodiversity (ICNB), and will be supported by an annual donation of 40,000 euros from national airport management company Ana Aeroportos.
