National skating team training at Lagoa school

The Portuguese National Speed Skating ‘Cadets’ and ‘Juniors B’ Team was on a training session at the International School of the Algarve this week.
The Portuguese Skating Federation called 16 athletes to the training session, including three roller skaters of the Sports Club of the International School of the Algarve (CDEIA): Carolina Ferreira, Laura Nagiller and Miguel Bravo.
The three athletes are students of the International School of the Algarve and last year represented Portugal at the European Speed Skating Championship.
The training session began on Monday and was held under the technical guidance of national coach Lívio Medeiros and head coach Alípio Silva. “It is the first training session of the season for this team and helps us to get to know the athletes better and begin the work that will lead to results in the European Championship,” said Medeiros.
This is the second training session held this season by the Portuguese Skating Federation at the Lagoa school. The first was held in February by the Portuguese National Speed Skating Elite Team, formed by the seven best Portuguese senior speed skaters.
