Musicians from across the globe will be taking part in another Magical Musical Walk in the forest outside Barão de São João to raise funds for local heroes, the Lagos firefighters.
The enchanting event is taking place on Sunday, September 20, from 2pm-10pm in Parque de Merendas (picnic and BBQ site) in the Mata Nacional above Barão de São João.
Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a walk in the forest along marked trails, where a variety of musicians from all over the world will serenade you in aid of the Lagos Bombeiros. Visitors are welcome to show their appreciation by making donations as they pause to enjoy the music.
Organised by local community members, all funds raised will be donated to the Firefighters’ Fund to help provide essential life-saving equipment for the Lagos Bombeiros Voluntários.
Admission is free, and there will be a range of tasty treats from the barbeque and refreshing drinks from the bar. At 7pm a final concert begins featuring many of the talented musicians from the forest trails.
The Mata Nacional is signposted from the picturesque village of Barão de São João. With ample parking, shade and even a children’s play area, there will be something for everyone, young and old.
Following last year’s successful fundraising efforts, the organisers are hoping to raise even more for the brave volunteer force “who keep our beautiful surroundings safe for us”.
