Musical evening to support people with rare diseases

A musical evening in aid of an association supporting people with rare diseases is taking place at Pestana Vila Sol in Vilamoura on Saturday, May 14.

Organised by Rotary E-club Porches International, the event aims to raise awareness of the work carried out by Raríssimas Tavira, a multidisciplinary clinic, created to meet the growing demand for personalised therapies, and rehabilitative and specialised consultations for those diagnosed with a rare disease across the Algarve.

The evening will kick off at 7pm with a performance by pianist Joyce Whitelaw. Guests will then move into the dining room to enjoy a three-course meal.

After dinner, fadista Sara Gonçalves will take to the stage accompanied by traditional Portuguese guitars. The evening ends with Martin Teutscher’s lively saxophone, performed with the support of DJ Jacob.

Cost is €60 per person. Tables will be arranged for 10, so people are encouraged to get a group together for the evening, which is expected to provide “much-needed financial support for the Raríssimas project”.
