Pianist Joyce Whitelaw performed a “musical potpourri” concert in aid of the Lar de São Vincente on May 27, raising more than €1,100 for the home for physically and mentally handicapped young people based in Albufeira.
Money raised by the recital, which included a variety of numbers to appeal to all music lovers, will now be used to buy bed linen and blankets for the home.
Organisers of the event, Pam Stephens and Linda Mühleisen, declared the evening to be a great success, far exceeding their expectations.
“We would like to thank Marie Huber of the Centro Cultural São Lourenço in Almancil for her generosity in allowing the use of the recital room and Barrie Shaw from the Amigos for the use of the grand piano,” said Pam Stephens.
