BETWEEN NOW and January 6, musical performances are taking place in various locations on the streets of Portimão, contributing to a happy festive atmosphere in the city.
Students from the music group of the Escola E.B 2,3 Prof. José Buísel performed on December 5 and 8, and will be playing again on December 15. Meanwhile, students from the fifth year will perform on December 9, 12, 13 and 14, at 11am.
The traditional Christmas concert by the Algarve Orchestra is due to take place on December 17, at 9.30pm, at the Igreja Matriz. The next day, at 6pm, the municipal auditorium will provide the setting for another Christmas concert, this time by the Banda da Sociedade Filarmónica Portimonense.
On December 21 and 23, at 6pm, it will be the turn of the Adágio Choral Group who will perform in Alameda da Praça da República. Finally, on January 6, at 9.30pm, one of the oldest ballet companies in Ukraine, Ballet do Teatro da Ópera de Jarkov, will perform Quebra Nozes (The Nutcracker) at the municipal auditorium.
