PJ police have mounted a murder inquiry following the discovery of the mutilated body of a man in a rented house in Ponte de Lima (Viana do Castelo district)
A Spanish woman was also found in the house, tied with her hands behind her back by electric cables.
All reports refer to the woman “indicating her former husband/ partner” (also Spanish and living in Vigo) as the suspect.
A GNR source has said it’s not clear how the attack played out, how long the victims had been in the conditions in which they were found nor who alerted authorities to the situation.
The incident was ‘called in’ early this morning.
The dead man is also believed to have been Spanish, and in his 50s.
