Municipality of Manteigas fears new landslides

The village of Sameiro, in the municipality of Manteigas, suffered untold damages on Tuesday due to landslides of burnt detritus brought down the hills in the heavy rains that have assailed the mainland this week. Forestry sappers warn there is ‘still a lot more where that came from’: “a lot of detritus” in the hills of Serra da Estrela that could be carried down if downpours persist.
