Vila Real de Santo António, Loulé, Lisbon, Cascais, Funchal and Braga municipalities have been nominated for the category ‘Best Municipality for Tourism’ in this year’s Publituris Portugal Trade Awards 2013, to be held on February 27 at the country’s largest tourism fair, Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa (BTL).
There are 16 categories involving nearly 100 enterprises and institutions, which are chosen by Publituris.
In order to evaluate the contestants, certain criteria are taken into consideration, notably communication and marketing policies, innovation, business generated, commercial initiatives and service quality.
The evaluation will also consider the work done by each contestant during the previous year. Besides the award, winners will also receive a ‘Seal of Excellence’ for unparalleled quality service.
The event aims to rewardthose companies and entities that do their best in promoting Portugal as a top tourism destination.
The Publituris Portugal Trade Awards were first launched at BTL in 2010.
This contest is held in partnership with BTL and sponsors are Banco Espírito Santo, Travelport and Turismo de Portugal.
