MPs agree final wording of euthanasia bill

Members of the Constitutional Affairs Committee agreed on the final wording of the text on medically assisted dying today. The bill will now go to president Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa for promulgation. Parliament approved the text for this contentious bill on December 9, with votes for coming from the PS majority, and members of Iniciativa Liberal, Bloco de Esquerda, PAN, LIVRE and certain PSD MPs. The PSD majority however voted against, as did CHEGA and PCP. There were also four abstentions (three PSD and one PS).
