A classical music concert by the Mozart Group will be staged at the Lagoa Auditorium on October 7.
Filip Jaslar, Michał Sikorski, Paweł Kowaluk and Bolesław Błaszczyk are four instrumentalists who were trained at the prestigious Academies of Music in Warsaw and Łódz in Poland.
They decided to play classical music with a touch of humour and created a unique musical cabaret in which it is music that provides the source of comedy and amusement.
The Mozart Group have been playing together since 1995. They started off presenting short musical jokes on television, on Canal Plus, and in 1997 they entered the PAKA competition of new cabarets in Krakow.
The group’s first cabaret programme Mozart’s Still Alive was also presented in 1997 and since then the quartet has given concerts all over Europe, in Canada, the USA and Asia.
They have won a number of awards such as the Grand Prix of the 18th Lidzbark Festival of Satire and Comedy, the Pingwin z brazu awarded by the cabaret community of Zielona Gora, and, most recently in 2010, a special prize presented by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Poland.
Between 2008 and 2010, the Mozart Group released three DVDs which sold more than 100,000 copies altogether.
Tickets cost €15 and can be reserved on 282 380 473.
