‘Move Faro’ raises awareness of physical activity and cancer prevention

‘MOVE.Faro’, an event that promises a fun-filled day with several physical activities and entertainment, will take place in Faro on Saturday, February 2.

The event is organised by the Algarve Oncology Association (AOA) alongside the Forum Algarve shopping centre and Faro council and aims to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle as well as cancer prevention. It also aims to raise funds for the association.

There will be two walk/run events to choose from (5km and 9.5km) as well as a 21km guided bicycle ride, all commencing at 10am.

Forum Algarve will also host many other activities from 9am to 10pm such as health screenings, classes by fitness specialists, a showcooking event and a concert by Olhão-based indie rock band The Black Teddys.

The full programme can be found online at www.aoa.pt. Anyone can sign up for the events online or at the AOA headquarters, Forum Algarve or Gymnasium Faro.
