Lagoa’s popular sweets fair ‘Mostra do Doce Conventual’ will take place next week from Wednesday to Sunday (July 20-24) at the town’s São José convent.
The event features traditional sweets inspired by nuns’ century-old recipes, including everything from the Algarve’s Dom Rodrigo (egg threads with cinnamon) to jams, liquors and many other kinds of desserts and cakes.
Bakers will be travelling from all over the Algarve and Portugal to bring their most delicious creations to Lagoa.
The show will also feature several musical performances every day at 10pm, such as an ABBA tribute on the opening day.
Doors open at 7pm.
Admission is free.
