Mourinho’s former ‘right-hand’ arrested in Tunisia

The former assistant coach of Special One José Mourinho was arrested yesterday (June 17) at Tunis Airport, in Tunisia, after trying to board a plane to Lisbon with “€10,000 in cash of undeclared money”.

José Morais, Mourinho’s right-hand man for many years, is now to appear before a Tunisian judge, according to newspapers citing Tunisian media.

The 49-year-old from Lisbon was coaching the Tunisian squad Espérance de Tunis until a few weeks ago, when he resigned citing “personal reasons”.

Previously, he had spent a short time in 2014 at Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab, following five years working as Mourinho’s assistant at Inter, Real Madrid and Chelsea.
