Mother ‘recognises’ body in oven

The mother of a young girl missing since October has said she has “no doubts” that the body found earlier this month tied at the hands and feet and trussed into an industrial oven in Braga is that of her daughter – even though DNA testing is still ongoing. Alessandra Maldonado told Lusa news agency that she recognised the dress, shoes and watch of 20-year-old Mayara, whose last known contact with anyone was a panicked phone call, cut short, to her boyfriend. According to Correio da Manhã, the deserted factory where the body was found is very close to the home of Mayara’s ex-boyfriend.
