EVERY YEAR, they arrive at the pine forests of Vale das Almas, near Faro. More than 30,000 motards come together for a three-day motorbike festival (July 20 to 23), bringing an air of excitement to the capital of the Algarve.
This year, the biggest concentration of bikers in Europe will travel to the 25th edition of the event, attracting bike lovers from all four-corners of the globe. Concerts, competitions and striptease shows take place as the party spreads along the streets of the city. Throughout the year, several bikers’ meetings take place in the region. Olhão hosted the 14th motard reunion in May and Monte Gordo was the stage for the Harley Fun ‘n’ Sun event, which attracted large numbers of Harley-Davidson aficionados. The Algarve also celebrates the Dia do Motociclista (Biker’s Day) on April 23, which this year was held at Sagres Fort, where a mass was held to remember those bikers who had passed away.
Loulé is now preparing to receive the fourth meeting of vehicles on two wheels from July 29 and 31.
