For more than 20 years, the Morris Ballet Studio in Lagos has held its Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and presentation class examinations in classical ballet.
This year was no exception and over a period of two days, 65 pupils aged between five and 16 achieved 100% success, with marks over 70% and the majority obtaining a distinction.
A diploma presentation was held recently at the studio by Principal G Morris Franco and assisted by Profª Sofia Rodrigues. The RAD diplomas are internationally recognised.
A spokesman for the Morris Ballet Studio said: “The examiners of the RAD are exceptionally qualified teachers and are specifically trained by the RAD at the headquarters in London.
“As international examiners, they travel worldwide. In the case of Portugal, their tour takes several weeks while they visit the RAD registered teachers’ schools.
“The Morris Ballet Studio would like to extend their warmest congratulations to all pupils.”
