More than 48,000 want revision of Portugal’s abortion law

A commission pushing for revision of Portugal’s abortion law is to be received in Parliament next week after amassing a petition signed by over 48,000 citizens, including leader public figures like former PSD leader and television commentator Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

Among changes to the law, the Right to Birth Platform wants to see more social support available to families and to parents-to-be who are considered “at risk”.
