More than 4,100 Ukrainian children enrolled in Portuguese schools

The influx into Portugal of more than 35,000 Ukrainian refugees since February 24 has seen thousands flood into schools and professional training. Ana Catarina Mendes, minister for parliamentary affairs, said today that 4,100 Ukrainian children are already being educated in Portuguese schools, while 9,000 Ukrainians are enrolled with the Institute of Employment and Professional Training. Of the 35,000-plus granted temporary protection as a result of the war, 32,000 already have fiscal numbers (meaning they are ready to look for work).
