More than 400 receive support with food in Faro

More than 400 people are currently receiving support with food in Faro through the voluntary Refood programme (which ensures left over food, often from restaurants, goes to people who would otherwise go hungry). Refood coordinator Carlos Reis has told reporters the programme has seen beneficiaries increase four-fold since 2019. This translates into more than 165 families receiving food, which he agrees “is a lot of people for a city like Faro with 50,000 inhabitants”.
