More than 15,000 visitors attended Algarve Convida

THE FIRST edition of Algarve Convida (Algarve Invites), a fair dedicated to the promotion of the Algarve to the Portuguese market, held at Lisbon’s Pavilhão Atlântico earlier this month, was a resounding success, attracting over 15,000 visitors.

A total of 73 exhibitors took part in the event including hotels, travel agencies and leisure venues, offering special promotions for visitors and selling summer holidays directly to the public at early bird prices.

Such was the response to the event that organiser Região de Turismo do Algarve, the Algarve Tourism Board, intends to bring the event to Porto as well as Lisbon in 2007.

The excellent entertainment programme and traditional Algarvean gastronomy on offer also contributed to the event’s success. Many stands were offering give-aways and promotional gifts, as well as brochures promoting their products.
