More syphilis and chlamydia in Portuguese youngsters…

In a bid to stem rising cases of syphilis and chlamydia in teens and 20-somethings, specialists are calling for education in schools on sexually-transmitted diseases. They hope classes might reduce the risks youngsters seem to be taking with their health. Said Cândida Fernandes of Hospital dos Capuchos, “young people are less concerned with diseases that could prove fatal because they think they are immortal and these things only happen to others”.
