‘Loulé Summer’ is a new event that the town is organising this month which promises to become one of the main happenings of the Algarve summer season.
It begins on Monday, August 15 at 9.30pm with a performance by one of Portugal’s most famous Fado singers, Mariza, in the square near the Engº Duarte Pacheco monument.
Before and after the concert, everyone will be invited to have fun in a special lounge area with a bar and “chill out” music.
The council will also use the opportunity to promote some of its main projects, such as Loulé Criativo and Loulé Adapta.
On Saturday, August 20, the party will continue in Quarteira with Fado singer Kátia Guerreiro and the Orquestra Clássica do Sul teaming up for a special performance at 10pm along the town’s eastern promenade.
On Friday, August 26, the event returns to Loulé with a ‘Night Parade’ along Praça da Républica and Avenida 25 de Abril that promises to fill the town with “light, colour and joy”. It begins at 9.30pm.
The next day, Portuguese heartthrob singer Tony Carreira will perform in Loulé at 9.30pm, also at the square near the Duarte Pacheco monument.
Finally on Sunday, August 28, Portuguese Soul/R&B group HMB will take the stage at Loulé’s renovated D.Afonso III square at 10.15pm, following an urban sunset party led by Hugo Tabaco that begins at 7.15pm in São Francisco square.
Admission is free to all the events except Mariza’s performance (with tickets costing between €15 and €20, available at the Cineteatro Louletano).
