Alison Slater of Collections – Ladies Fashion raised 500 euros for Silves bombeiros and 500 euros for the Castelo de Sonhos through her sale of discounted ladies fashion at the Fissul in Silves on December 16 and 17, 2006.
Commandant António Nunes and Angela Schulz-Henke each received a cheque for 500 euros. The money has been used to pay for the jackets for the ambulance-team.
However, more money is needed to allow Silves bombeiros to purchase a secondhand ambulance.
The International Pestana organisation has teamed up with Silves bombeiros, to arrange a tournament at the Pestana Golf Resort in Silves on January 25, to blow away those post-Christmas blues. The green fee will be 30 euros to play on the day.
Golfers can tee off from 9am and the winner announcement and prize giving will be at 4pm at the same time as a raffle and auction, with proceeds going to Silves bombeiros.
