Monthly RBL dinner raises €100 for Poppy Appeal

The Royal British Legion (Eastern area) held its monthly dinner at Gunther’s Restaurant at Pechão on Wednesday, August 7 attended by 20 people.

The Vice Chairman Phil Ladbrook welcomed everyone including both “first timers” and guests before the RBL Chaplain Rev Reid Hamilton said grace.

Thanks went to the organisers of the event, Shirley and Malcolm Blackman, before Shirley told guests about the tandem parachute jump that she is going to do in October to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal (see next week’s edition for full details).

After the meal, the Vice Chairman declared the evening a success and announced that the sum of €100 was raised for the Poppy Appeal.

The next Eastern area dinner is being held on Wednesday, September 4 again at Gunther’s.
