Monte Rei named Best Golf Club Portugal 2018

Monte Rei Golf & Country Club has been voted Best Golf Club in Portugal in 2018 in the Golfers’ Choice Rankings of Leadingcourses.com, which is visited by 350,000 golfers each month.

With an average rating of 9.18, Monte Rei has an 18-hole par-72 golf course, “located between the Serra do Caldeirão mountains and the Atlantic Ocean”. It has been designed by Jack Nicklaus, who has designed both the North and South Course.

“The rankings for best golf club are compiled based on numerous aspects influencing the quality of the golf club, such as the golf course itself, the overall impression of the club, maintenance, facilities such as practice facilities, clubhouse and the perceived value for money,” stated Leadingcourses.com

Darren Griffiths, Director of Golf, Monte Rei Golf & Country Club, said: “Leadingcourses.com has been our most active feedback platform. To win the 2018 Golfers’ Choice Awards for Best Golf Club in Portugal is an honour, as this is validation that we are providing a great experience to our customers.”

Runner-up in the Golfers’ Choice Ranking of Best Golf Clubs Portugal 2018 is West Cliffs, which opened its doors in June 2017. Oceânico Faldo Course is third in the rankings, followed by Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort and Victoria Golf Course – Dom Pedro Golf.
