The Eastern Algarve resort of Monte Gordo has seen work start on a stunning new beach walkway access, costing €1 million.
The project, backed by Algarve environment agency APA and Vila Real do Santo António council, saw machinery move in last week, and should be concluded by May in time for the summer season.
As has been widely explained, the wooden walkway is designed to link up all beach infrastructures and extend for two kilometres.
Next season, ‘old’ beach huts and infrastructure will be replaced by new – involving demolitions from October to February 2018.
