Vila Real de Santo António has unveiled the municipality’s first electric vehicle charging station.
It is located on Rua Nova de Lisboa in Monte Gordo near the local parish council and is “easily accessible” from the EN125 road.
The station is equipped with two “semi-fast”, 22kWh chargers and was set up following a partnership involving VRSA Council, mobility company MOBI.E and the Algarve Municipalities Association (AMAL).
The charging station will be free to use during its experimental period as it is part of a national pilot-project.
The local council adds that it hopes to unveil another charging station sometime this year along the Ministro Duarte Pacheco avenue in Vila Real de Santo António.
