Monkey pox: “We have the vaccines!”

With some media outlets trying to suggest that monkey pox is deadly, Portugal’s health secretary António Lacerda Sales has guaranteed that (not only is it not deadly) Portugal has ample vaccines in stock for this strain of orthopoxvirus. The 23 predominantly gay men currently infected with monkey pox in Portugal are “all well and stable”, he added, while ILGA Portugal (standing for Lesbian Intervention, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersexual) has said it “makes no sense to relate sexual orientation” with monkeypox, as it can transmit through ‘all sexual behaviours’.
