Monchique will be recreating its annual autumn fair this Sunday (October 24) between 9am and 6pm.
The fair used to be a major event in Monchique, attracting people from all over.
The recreation of the event aims to ensure these memories are not lost.
“More than bringing back the memories of each of us and of our people, we aim to create harmony between the values of the past, present and future,” the council says.
There will be no shortage of the usual roasted chestnuts, ‘filhós’ (fried dough covered in sugar and cinnamon), cotton floss and popcorn, the local authority adds.
