One person died and two were injured in a helicopter crash in Monchique today (December 18).
According to the National Authority for Civil Protection (ANPC), the accident occurred in the Vale de Água area and 20 emergency response team members were involved in the rescue operation as was a Kamov helicopter to access the crash site quickly.
The craft, belonging to company Heliportugal, crashed after colliding with power cables, revealed the District Command for Emergency Operations (CDOS).
The crash took place at 2.30pm.
