Monarch scoops top award

Low fares carrier Monarch Scheduled has been voted ‘Best Airline to the Mediterranean and Islands 2004’ by UK travel agents. The award, which was presented at the recent World Travel Market, followed a survey conducted by travel trade publication Short Breaks Worldwide magazine. Receiving the award, Sales and Marketing Director, Jonathan Crick, said: “Competition in the low fare airline industry is very fierce at the moment, so to be voted the best by the nation’s travel agents is one of the greatest endorsements we can receive. We are very flattered that Monarch Scheduled is held in such high regard.”

Monarch Scheduled operates flights to Spain, Gibraltar and Portugal from Manchester, London Gatwick and London Luton. Prices start from just 55 euros for a return flight, including taxes. Fares include pre-bookable allocated seating to avoid the last-minute free-for-all, complimentary daily newspapers and in-flight entertainment, and a refreshing hot towel service. Regular travellers are rewarded too, with a range of benefits through the airline’s loyalty scheme, Vantage Club. For more information visit www.flymonarch.com
