Modern art

Norwegian artist Lis Petersen is currently displaying her oil paintings and smaller delicate watercolours at the Côrte-Real Gallery in Paderne. Making paint from pure pigments, egg yolk and linseed oil and impregnating the finished linen canvas with handmade beeswax paste, the artist creates contemporary Algarvean scenes using materials and methods devised centuries ago.
