Mixed netball teams from the UK competed against local teams in the Brown’s Netball Cup at the sports and leisure club in Vilamoura on June 18 and 19.
The skills of the visiting teams proved to be superior to the locals, with the Mojito team and Chili’s playing in the final and the Mojito’s coming out as the winners beating the Chili’s by 15 – 8.
Meanwhile, the crunch match between the two Algarve teams saw the team from Carvoeiro only narrowly beating the home team from Browns by 5 – 4.
A spokesman from Brown´s Sports & Leisure said: “It was a great weekend and everyone had a lot of fun despite playing in very hot temperatures ,and it was good to see the local teams taking to the court with those from the UK.”
