Missing

A PORTUGUESE woman who disappeared on February 18 when her car plunged into the Jamor River in Lisbon, following heavy rain storms, was still being searched for on Wednesday by civil police, maritime police and the bombeiros.

When The Resident went to press, a total of 34 men supported by dog rescue teams were still searching the banks of the river from Belas, near Sintra, to Dafundo, near Oeiras.

The woman was travelling in a car with her sister (see The Resident edition of February 22), who also died but the body was already recovered, when the vehicle was dragged into the river.
