SPANISH POLICE have confirmed that a body found floating in Tinto river in Huelva is that of Mari Luz, the five-year-old ispanish girl who went missing on January 13.
The alarm was triggered by a man who called the police after spotting a small body floating in the water.
The parents of Mari Luz were contacted by authorities for formal identification of the body.
A spokesman from the Huelva regional government confirmed the information to the Portuguese news agency LUSA, saying: “Yes, it is her body.”
Local criminal police are investigating the location where the body was found and the body was taken by the Guardia Civil for forensic analysis.
Sources from Guardia Civil revealed to LUSA that the body was still with the clothes that Mari Luz parents said she was wearing the day she disappeared.
