A 74-year-old German woman who went missing on Monday (December 14) has been found dead this Thursday near the bathrooms of Penhas Douradas park in Serra da Estrela.
The owner of the ‘Vale do Rossim Eco Resort’ told Jornal de Notícias the woman had been travelling alone and arrived at the park in a motorhome.
“She left her keys, computer and all her personal belongings inside it – which implies that wherever she went, she didn’t plan to be gone long,” he added.
Searches started on Tuesday evening, but the body was only found this (Thursday) morning.
No further information as to cause of death, or why it took so long to find the woman’s body, have been forthcoming.
