MISSING MOTHER Carla Gomes has contacted the police to say there has been misunderstanding and that she and her family are actually on holiday in the eastern Algarve.
Since being reported missing on December 1 from their home near Lagoa, several unsuccessful attempts have been made by friends, colleagues and The Resident to contact the luso-Canadian family.
As a result, fears were growing for the welfare of Carla Gomes, her husband Jonathan Heart and their two children, CJ, aged nine, and Justin, aged six
The mystery appears to have been solved today (Sunday) after Carla Gomes made contact with GNR officers in Castro Marim near the small town of Altura in the Algarve to say the family is staying on holiday in a local hotel.
GNR officers were sent to the hotel and confirmed this was indeed the family and Carla Gomes is reported as saying that this was nothing more than a misunderstanding.
Carla Gomes is an associate of Remax real estate agency in Albufeira.
The family was reported missing from their home in Areais de Porches, Lagoa on Monday by a work colleague.
