Missing cat sails to Spain

A missing cat that sent its owners into panic turned up three days later in Spain after travelling by a P&O ferry to the port of Bilbao.

Sandi the cat has had to stay in Spain for six months because of quarantine rules but his owners, Tim and Patricia Austin, are relieved to know he is safe.

After Sandi went missing, they started to put posters up around Portsmouth, where they live, only to receive a phone call three days later saying he was alive and well in Spain.

As the cat was microchipped, P&O was able to contact Animal Health’s Portsmouth office to inform them of the feline find.

Since the cat was found onboard the ferry, which set sail from Portsmouth, he was treated like a VIP and even had his own cabin.
