SINTRA CÂMARA will contribute around 3.5 million euros this year to the borough’s 20 Juntas de Freguesia (parishes) for the management and conservation of the area’s parks and green areas. The responsibility for the care of the green zones was taken on by the individual parishes, following the signing of agreements between the Juntas de Freguesia and Sintra Câmara in 2003. As well as the maintenance and management of these areas, the planting of new trees and plants, lawn mowing, irrigation and fertilising are just some of the responsibilities falling under the parishes’ remit.
