The government will be investing 1.4 billion euros in the agriculture sector this year, half in direct aid to producers and the other half to support investment.
Minister of Agriculture António Serrano said: “Portugal is an exporter of olive oil and wine, but the milk production also has to be supported to contribute to the reduction of imports.”
The minister also said that is very important to support the Portuguese production to prevent the sales of products coming from abroad.
